Care guide

Designed to last. Cared for properly, even longer.

DayShift™ is built from premium materials, but premium materials still need care. A few small habits will keep your eyewear looking new for years.

Daily care

Cleaning the lenses

Use the microfibre cloth included with your DayShift™ to wipe the lenses gently. For smudges or sunscreen residue, add a drop of lens-safe cleaner or rinse the lenses under cool tap water first, then dry with the cloth.

Avoid: paper towels, tissue, t-shirts, household glass cleaners (Windex, ammonia-based products). These can scratch the lens coating or break it down over time.

Cleaning the frame

Wipe with the microfibre cloth. For grease or makeup, use a small amount of mild soap with warm water on a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly.

Storage

Use the hard case — always

The premium hard case isn’t a packaging accessory. It’s the single most important thing you can do to extend the life of your eyewear.

When you take your glasses off, put them in the case. Not on a table, not in your pocket, not on top of your head. The case protects against scratches, accidental crushing, and bending.

Where not to leave them

  • On a car dashboard — sustained heat can warp the frame
  • Face-down on any surface — scratches the lens coating
  • In a beach bag with sand or grit
  • In a swimming pool, hot tub, or sauna — chlorine and steam degrade lens coatings

Handling

Putting them on and off

Use both hands to pick up and remove your glasses. One-handed removal twists the frame over time and loosens the hinges.

Adjustments

If the temples feel too loose or too tight after a few weeks of wear, the TR-90 frame can be gently warmed with a hairdryer and reshaped at the temple tips. If you’re not comfortable doing this, get in touch — we’ll guide you through it.

One more thing

If something feels off — a hinge is loose, a lens is cloudy, the fit isn’t right — message us at hello@elxyra.com. We’d rather hear from you than have you live with eyewear that isn’t working.
